Bagan Excursions to Mount Popa – Half Day
If you want to spend your time to travel through the idyllic countryside of Bagan, marvel at the incredible view from the top of Mount Popa and conquer 777 steps to the shrine on the top to discover Taung Kalat Monastery where enshrines 37 Nats of Burma, this Mt Popa trip from Bagan is one of a kind for you.
Your half-day Bagan trip to Mt Popa will start at your hotel in Bagan. Your driver will take you to Mount Popa (45 km and take us 1.5 hours) to see an extinct volcano with spectacular views and the birthplace of the Myanmar Nats or spirits.
Its shrine is dedicated to animist spirits known as ‘nats’ and you will have an opportunity to climb the 777 steps to the shrine at the top of the peak. Return to Bagan and stop at a local village and a palm plantation to observe daily life in the rural area. Mt Popa trip ends at your hotel in Bagan. Lunch is excluded.
