COPE Visitor Center Vientiane

COPE (Cooperative Orthotic & Prosthetic Enterprise) is the main source of artificial limbs, walking aids and wheelchairs in Laos. The COPE visitor centre is a small museum but a fantastic one which is very suitable for children.
After the Indochina War, it is necessary to create a center to support UXO survivors with the care and need by way of orthotic and prosthetic devices. Therefore, in 1997, this center or museum has been established to help all the victims.

COPE (Cooperative Orthotic & Prosthetic Enterprise) is the main source of artificial limbs, walking aids and wheelchairs in Laos. The COPE visitor centre is a small museum but a fantastic one which is very suitable for children. You will also learn about the work undertaken by COPE and the Center of Medical Rehabilitation (CMR, formerly known as the National Rehabilitation Center) to provide disability services for people affected by UXOs. As part of the exhibition, you can watch a number of excellent documentary films about UXOs and COPE. There is a gift shop and cafe, 100% of the proceeds of which go to supporting COPE’s projects in Laos.
